Final design of 3D model

For my Final design of the 3D model I looked at everything I have done so far, from my concept boards to my designs and even all the samples that i have done. I looked at what i wanted to make and separated each part of it to know what i needed to do next and if I needed to do any more samples or any more research for the project i was working on. What I separated my work into was the background, the grass, the pathway, the leaves, the bark and how to make the forest look "enchanted".

Pathway

The first part of the design that I created was the pathway because I was inspired to do it earlier on during the sampling stage. I took masking tape, tore it up and stuck in onto a piece of paper, next I painted it with different shades of yellow to make it look like dirty bricks almost like the yellow brick road from the wizard of oz. 

Grass and flowers

Next I created the grass with flowers on it. The first thing i did was brush water over a plain piece of paper and then dabbed green onto it and let it go all over the page to make the grass, next i put a bit of red on the paint brush and flicked it onto the page and then repeated the action with blue paint.

Bark

Making the bark was quite simple because to make it i scrunched up tissue and glued it down on to a piece of paper and let it dry. then i experimented with different browns and then painted the tissue. i then glued on the tree trunk and then used strips to create roots.

Leaves

The leaves were one of the most difficult and one of the last things that i designed because no matter how many different designs that i tried to create none of them looked like i envisioned and because of that i then looked for more concepts until i found something that i liked. So, to make the leaves i stippled using cotton buds with the colours green, blue, yellow and red 

Background

For the background i shaded in the top half with blue charcoal to represent the sky and with the bottom half i smudged green charcoal to create grass. Next i added detail onto the image making a huge mushroom and fairies flying around

Enchanted

Since i had to make an enchanted forest i needed to make the forest look more magical. to do this i used a very cartoon-ish style reminiscent of old fairy tales to do this i made it very bright, including the leaves which i put in colours like bright red, blue and yellow. I also used mystical looking things such as fairies and huge mushrooms. The bright road was made like the road from the w wizard of Oz and to finish it off i made a sign pointing in two directions, one direction said Grandma's house referencing red riding hood and the other way says Gingerbread house referencing Hansel and Gretel.
